I baked a loaf of bread to have with supper. I went with Paul Hollywood’s “Basic Wholemeal Bread,” from his book 100 Great Breads.
I used King Arthur’s bread flour and golden wheat flour.
I ended up using my pizza peel and stone, rather than a lined baking tray. I have no idea if that’s preferable, but it’s more fun, and then I’m not using a piece of parchment paper either.

Unfortunately, I made one of my slashes slightly too deep, and the bread burst more than I would have liked.

But it still ended up being very decent. It wasn’t overly dense (always a concern with whole wheat bread), and it seemed fully baked without being dry.

I’m looking forward to trying again soon.
