What reading/writing/sharing mix?

Something I’m grappling with right now is what’s the right mix of reading, writing, and creating or sharing one’s own thoughts.

And within that first category, what’s the right mix of reading books vs scholarly articles, long form journalism, weekly/daily news, and “microblog” posts?

How are the answer to the two questions linked? If the “right” mix requires more reading, ought we spend less time online? More difficultly, if we really ought to be sharing more and reading less daily news and off-the-cuff microblog posts (definitely a possibility), who will read what we post?

I have a hunch we all ought to be blogging more and reading more (though more selectively) at that level. The bar for a ~500 word blog is much higher than for a 300 character “skeet.”
