I’m interested in yesterday’s news that the Schenectady Daily Gazette will be sold to its current publisher. I’ve previously been a subscriber, as I like to support local journalism, but I found the paper’s editorial choices far too Conservative to be acceptable. (Note that this wasn’t just their Editorial/Op-Ed section; editorial choices include headlines, the framing of articles, and even what issues they choose to cover.)

I’ll have to keep an eye on that to see if there’s a change. I’d be happy to subscribe again (though I’ll note that they’re the only local publication for which I’ve been unable to find an RSS feed, which would be a deal-breaker as well.)

  1. I think that was the last straw for me as well. Something along the lines of “here’s all the ways she’s awful, but bipartisanship is important so…”
