Cocktail: Autumn Apple

This one was new to me, and it’s dangerously drinkable.

  • 2 oz Bluecoat gin
  • 2 oz apple cider
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz honey syrup
  • 1 dash angostura bitters
  • 1 pinch cinnamon

The recipe was from Liquor.com and recommends Bluecoat gin specifically, or another American gin (like Aviation), less juniper-forward than a London Dry. I happened to have Bluecoat on hand. Having tried the cocktail now, I think the excellent Sly Fox gin from upstate NY’s Spring Brook Hollow Farm Distillery would work at least as well.

My honey syrup is made with honey from Where the River Bends Farm, a simple 1:1 ratio of honey to water, by volume. The Apple Cider was from Samascott Orchards.

Cheers 🍹
