Cocktail: the Weathered Beekeeper

A cocktail in a rocks glass in front of some bottles and basket of fruit. The bottles are a green bottle of Laphroaig scotch and a deep olive green bottle of milagro tequila. The cocktail is a golden orange color. A ball of ice is in the glass, and a dark red cherry is visible towards the side.

This one is a variant of the Old Fashioned. I’m calling it the Weathered Beekeeper—a nod to the honey and smoke flavors, as well as the more rugged flavor of the tequila.

  • 3oz añejo tequila
  • 1/4 tsp honey syrup
  • 1/4 tsp Islay scotch
  • 2 dashes angostura bitters

Combine theingredients in a mixing glass. Stir with ice, and then strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube. Garnish with an orange peel and brandied cherry.

I’m quite pleased with how it came out. Cheers 🥃
